What is the issue with this pipe? Poly-B pipe is known to have issues where cracks and pin-holes appear causing leaks and water damage. While the manufacturers never admitted fault that Poly-B was defective, there was a class action lawsuit and settlement. There is evidence that suggests the presence of chlorine in city water can cause the deterioration of the chemical structure of Poly-B, which then leads to the failure of the pipe and in-turn water leaks.
